At The Sheridan Company, we understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected changes our way.

That's why we've crafted our cancellation and refund policy to be as accommodating and fair as possible.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

At The Sheridan Company, we reserve time specifically for your appointment to ensure you receive the highest level of care and attention. Both our mobile notary and remote online notary appointments require advance planning and preparation. Mobile appointments involve coordinating travel to your location, while remote online notarizations require pre-appointment setup and technology preparation to ensure a seamless experience.

 

To help us provide exceptional service to all our clients, we require a non-refundable $25 deposit to secure your appointment. This deposit will be applied toward your total service fee.

 

Cancellations and Rescheduling:

 

We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to adjust our schedule and accommodate other clients who may need our services.

  • Notice given 24+ hours in advance: Your $25 deposit will be credited toward your rescheduled appointment.

  • Notice given less than 24 hours or no-show: Your $25 deposit is non-refundable, as we have already reserved your time and coordinated our schedule accordingly.

 

Travel Fee Responsibility:

 

In the event of a no-show, or if I travel to your location and the notarization cannot be completed for any reason (including but not limited to missing identification, invalid documents, or signer incapacity), you will still be responsible for the entire travel fee. This fee reflects the time and resources dedicated to serving you.

Requirements for Notarization

To ensure a successful notarization, we ask that you review and meet the following requirements before your appointment. These requirements are in place to comply with Oklahoma notary laws and protect all parties involved.

 

Valid Government-Issued Identification:

The signer must present a valid, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. The ID must be current and not expired.

 

Name Matching:

The name on the document must match the name on the identification. If there are discrepancies, the notarization cannot proceed.

 

Signer Must Be Present:

The signer must be physically present for in-person notarizations or appear via live video for remote online notarizations. We cannot notarize documents without the signer's direct participation.

 

Awareness of Document Content:

​The signer must be aware of and understand the content of the document they are signing. If the signer does not understand the document, we cannot proceed with notarization.

 

Voluntary Signing:

The signer must be signing of their own free will, without coercion, pressure, or undue influence from any party.

 

Mental Capacity:

The signer must not be impaired and must be coherent. They must be able to communicate clearly and understand the nature of the transaction.

 

Document Completion:

The document must be filled out completely before the notarization, with the exception of dates and signatures, which will be completed during the notarization appointment.

Refunds

We value your satisfaction with our services, and while we strive for excellence in every interaction, we understand that situations may arise where refunds are necessary. Refunds will only be considered for payments made in advance for notary services that have not yet been rendered. Once a notarization has been completed or executed, refunds may not be eligible due to the nature of the service provided.
